Love Notes

The 7 years old Alyssa Krause was diagnosed with leukemia, a blood cancer. Krause family is very devoted to God. Every Sunday, they never failed to attend the mass and give donations to charity. Before getting sick, Alyssa is a lively and cheerful little girl. And also charming, she often writes her parents notes and drawings, which is a stress remover for her parents who came from work.

As cancer took its toll, her energy and strength gradually disappeared. Her parents lose hope to the point that they question God. Little Alyssa, wise beyond her years, continued to express her love for her family through letters and drawing on pieces of paper. She prayed, “Dear God, I know You don’t want me sick. I just hope this hurt will stop. But I love my parents so much. I don’t want to see them cry….”

Sadly, cancer took Alyssa too soon. Before she died, she began to hide hundreds of letters and notes literally throughout the house for her family to find after she died. Her parents would continue to see them under the vase, behind the television, tucked between pages of coloring books.

This sweet deed from a 7-year-old reminded me of how God left us letters from Bibles. These love notes from Heaven tell us the story of His care and ultimate love to bring good to our lives.

It is time to read the Bible to find love notes left for us and remind us of God’s pure love that will change our lives forever.

“Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path” – Psalm 119:105
