Shanghai, the bustling metropolis of China, is a city that seamlessly marries ancient traditions with modernity. With its stunning architectural wonders, skyscrapers, picturesque parks, and mouthwatering cuisine, Shanghai offers travelers a unique and unforgettable experience. In this blog, I will include you on my travel on exploring some of the most beautiful places to visit in Shanghai, along with the indulging and luxurious amenities it has to offer.

Shanghai Radisson Hotel Collection
When it comes to finding a hotel for a relaxing and comfortable stay, Radisson Hotel meets our expectations. During our recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent arrangement, comfortable bedding, captivating views, good vibe as well as cleanliness.
At the Radisson Hotel, comfort is paramount. The bed in my room was incredibly comfortable with plush pillows which you can ask for extra, and a cozy mattress that ensured rejuvenating night's sleep.
From the moment we set foot in the lobby, we were greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, with stylish decor and comfortable seating in the waiting area. The hotel's strategic location provides stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area, and most importantly, is also accessible to various shops and restaurants.
The hotel takes cleanliness seriously, and the housekeeping staff consistently maintained the tidiness of the room to a high standard. There are also fresh and spotless towels and bed sheets every day. The room is equipped with a television (not smart tv), electric kettle, hair dryer, and flat iron. While the overall quality of the room was satisfactory, I found that the showerhead is a bit outdated. However, despite this minor setback, the water pressure and temperature were ideal, ensuring a satisfying and refreshing showering experience.
In a tranquil early morning, we found ourselves wandering amidst the charm of our hotel surroundings. A gentle breeze, as if handpicked by nature, whispered through the air, casting an ethereal spell upon the recently washed city streets due to a recent rain shower. There is an inherent magic in exploring unfamiliar lands, a therapeutic escapade that tantalizes the senses and opens the heart to new experiences. With every step and click of our phone cameras, we embarked upon the journey of discovery, not only of Shanghai's modern city but of our own selves.
The Bund Park
Located along the banks of the Huangpu River, The Bund Park is said to be a must-visit destination for capturing the essence of Shanghai. This public place provides stunning views of Shanghai's modern skyline, including the iconic Oriental Pearl Tower and Shanghai Tower. Walking along the park's promenade, I was captivated by the breathtaking views of the Huangpu River, contrasting with the grandeur of the historic building on the opposite side with a European vibe. This offers a fascinating blend of Shanghai's colonial past and modern stillness. We spent a leisurely afternoon strolling through the well-manicured gardens, savoring the natural beauty. The lush green spaces, dotted with vibrant flowers and sculptures, provided a perfect picnic spot or a quiet escape from the bustling city. It was a symphony of serenity, a sanctuary where the soul could find solace amidst tumultuous currents of life.
Exploring Xintiandi
I found myself immersed in the vibrant atmosphere of Xintiandi, a trendy district known for its European-inspired architecture, upscale boutiques, and an array of fine dining opportunities. There is this pedestrian-only area with seamless blends of Western and Chinese architecture, which gives it a unique charm. With upscale restaurants, cafes, high-end shops, and stylish pedestrians, Xintiandi is no doubt an urban traveler attraction. It is incredible strolling through its charming streets and immerse yourself in the rich history and contemporary vibes of Shanghai.
Culinary Delights
I might say Shanghai, is a haven for food enthusiasts. I couldn't resist trying some local delicacies at the array of restaurants within the metro. From soup dumplings to mouthwatering hot pots, the city's culinary scene is a gastronomical adventure and was a delightful experience for my taste buds.
When it comes to comfort food, hot pot stands out as everybody's true favorite. I had the chance to dine at Hai Di Lao, which is a popular hot pot chain. There is a waiting area and you will be pampered by the waitstaff with water and snacks and also a free manicure. There are a wide array of fresh ingredients served with four bubbling broth at our table. From thinly sliced meats and seafood to an assortment of vegetables and exotic food like pig blood and tripe. The whole experience ended with a kungfu noodle master ribbon dancing toward our pot.
For the taste of elegance and opulence, we decided to indulge in an upscale dining experience at Wang Steak. This renowned restaurant offers a delightful fusion of Western steakhouse cuisine with Chinese touches. The cooked cuts of steak accompanied by unique sauces and side dish vegetables exemplified the artistry of gourmet dining.
We discovered a small and unassuming restaurant inside the Golden Tulip that is serving delectable roasted pigeons. The succulent meat, marinated in a secret blend of spices and roasted to perfection, was truly a culinary masterpiece. Included on our menus is a peach dish and also different variations of mushrooms. While I ventured into trying a variety of dishes, I admit I couldn't muster the courage to give chicken feet a try. Despite its popularity in Chinese and Filipino cuisine, the dish didn't appeal to my personal preferences. However, I appreciated the diversity of Shanghai culinary landscape, for those who are adventurous, it might be worth exploring this local delicacy.
Love for Luxury Cars
One cannot miss the sight of luxury cars gracefully cruising through the streets of Shanghai. As a city that exudes opulence, it has become a haven for automobile enthusiasts, attracting plenty of high-end vehicles. On the road, we witness a parade of luxury car brands, showcasing the city's love for elegance and style. Despite being a city of flashy automobiles, Shanghai proved to be surprisingly practical when it comes to transportation. The prevalence of bicycles, trains, and public buses as their primary mode of transportation was truly remarkable. The unique blend of modern cars and practical means of transport such as bicycle usage truly reflects Shanghai's dynamic spirit.
Shanghai's outstanding blend and beauty and luxury makes it a destination like no other. Whether basking in the luxury amenities of Shanghai Radisson Collection or exploring the tranquil parks and gardens, the city promises a mesmerizing experience. I was gifted with memories that shall forever hold close to my heart. Shanghai had captivated my senses, and entwined my beings with its enigmatic charm, leaving an indelible mark upon my soul from its marvelous architecture to the vibrant flavors and rich cultural heritage that this city has to offer. As we savored the perfect blend of tranquility and architectural marvels, I was reminded of the profound beauty that awaited me when I open myself to the wonders of foreign soil. Shanghai is a city that captivates visitors and ensures unforgettable memories.
